When cleaning your engine, you should first remove any debris that collects in your vent, grille, and hood openings by removing them. If there are regions in which there are four seasons, this is especially true. One of the best ways to get rid of leaves and dust is to use compressed air. A simple hand brush will do the trick if you don’t have one.

The next thing to do would be to prepare your engine to get wet. Any electrical device that has the potential to cause a shortage is covered, including the distributor, spark plugs, and all sensors. To cover these items, you can use plastic baggies. The plastic bags can be held in place by using tape or rubber bands. You are merely stopping nearly all of the water from entering; It need not be watertight. It’s already waterproof in the engine room. The use of baggies is just for protection.

Turn on your engine and let it warm up for a few minutes to remove all of the greases that have built up on your engine and in the engine compartment. When it comes to cleaning your engine, the best temperature is not hot, but warm enough not to be uncomfortable. It’s just right when you can get to the engine and not say “Ouch!”

DEGREASER Application – DEGREASER

Once you have warmed up the engine and secured any vulnerable areas, you can then apply an engine degreaser. The use of strong petroleum-based cleaners inside the engine compartment is a warning, though they are relatively easy to do. They not only remove dirt and grease, but they are bad for the environment as well. You can also clean your windows using water or citrus cleaner. McKee offers a 37 Engine Degreaser that is a terrific alternative to harsh solvents. The cleaner is not only environmentally friendly but a great alternative to traditional cleaners.

It’s recommended that you work up your engine degreaser by starting at the bottom and working up to the top. So when you clean the underside of your shoes with the degreaser, it won’t drip on your skin. One crucial thing to remember: You can get the wax off of your car’s painted surfaces by using the engine degreaser to get rid of the wax. Plan on re-waxing areas after you receive degreaser overspray on them. This will allow you to get rid of any excess.

You should also wash off any extra cleaner from the hood, grille, and fenders with your engine degreaser. I usually spray water on the affected areas first.

Allow the degreaser to soak into the engine for three to 5 minutes depending on how much grease has accumulated. You want to keep close track of the degreaser during those few minutes. You don’t want the surface to become dry. You will not have to use a brush to clean the engine or apply light to moderate grease. This is fine. If the soil is very heavy, you can clean it off with a car wash solution and a long-handled brush (parts brush). To break up the grime, the most effective rinse aid is to use a smooth to medium bristle brush to remove the grease.
